Hello!
My name is Dean Moser, and I would like to welcome
you to Shades of Red & Green Eclectus! We are located next to
the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in sunny Colorado. This site is about my love and
passion for birds and specifically, the Eclectus Parrot. Personally, I have
found Eclectus parrots to be one of the best parrots for my family.
Whether the subspecies be Solomon Island Eclectus, Red Sided Eclectus, or Vosmaeri
Eclectus they have been the winner for us. I raise these wonderful parrots.
My love for these beautiful birds began about five years ago
when I was looking for the best pet for my family. After a long careful
search I landed on the Eclectus parrot. Its gentle demeanor
and
non-demanding nature were a fit for a family of young kids and a wife who was
not as excited about this bird venture. Upon seeing how wonderful this pet
was I decided to get a pair and so the story goes I now have
six! Five years later and my love for these incredible parrots continues
to grow.
If at all possible the parents rear the babies
until we pull the babies at 4-6 weeks to be handfed. This gives you the best of both worlds, a bird that knows
that it is a bird and one that is comfortable around kids, a dog and crazy me!
Each baby that leaves here comes with lifetime support.
Please be patient, the pictures of these
beautiful birds are worth it!
